Want.
Know a web designer?
I want to re-vamp my official (writing) website in 2011. Know anyone who might do a good job at a reasonable price? Please let me know if you do. Thanks!
A River of Stones (coming soon…to Verse Days)
I'm a sucker for writing challenges. I find that they as as effective as deadlines in order to get me writing. I try to complete NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) every November, for example. This year, I successfully posted every day in November on two of my blogs, which I'm happy about. Then, I use prompts sent by the lovely Lisa Romeo to jog my writing. They usually end up as verse, which again I'm happy about because I don't write verse as much as I used to.
I've signed up for a new challenge starting January called 'NaSmaStoMo' (National Small Stones Month) which encourages participants to post a 'stone' every day. According to the 'River of Stones' site, "a small stone is a polished moment of paying proper attention".
I'll be posting my stones on my other blog - the one where my occasional verse is hidden.
NaSmaStoMo sounds like a fun thing to do - would you like to join in?
Tulips on your table
Isn’t this tulip USB port nifty? It might add colour to any ole boring desk :)

Are you having a 100% Christmas? My baby learned to say ‘Meh Miss-Miss’. Good enough, I say! :)

I’d love to have a Blue Christmas if someone gave me these beautiful candles.

Wednesday Wishlist
I’m generally not a fan of wallpaper (especially given the dust levels in our house), but this one is just fantastic. It would look wonderful in any room (with the right light). I’d like to see this in a library space or even a child’s room. What do you think? Like?

{Swoon} Glittering bathroom
I LOOOOOVEEEEE this bathroom wall with its glittering mosaic stripes. Isn’t it gorgeous?!

Shiva Flower Vase
Did you notice that vase? I didn’t until I saw the caption on the photo. It’s a ‘Shiva Vase’ by Ettore Sottsass. Interesting concept; maybe I’d have liked it more had it been a different colour. What do you think of it?
I do like that star mirror, though. Really do.

Say it with (bright) flowers
I’d love one of these chairs. Wouldn’t they be a great DIY project? Those colours and patterns would look good on a trunk as well.

Swan Lake @ Sunaparanta
Sunaparanta - Goa Centre for the Arts in association with Child's Play India Foundation presents a screening of the Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet in 'Swan Lake' on Monday, the 20th of December at 6.30 pm. The duration is 111 mins.
'Swan Lake' is one of the most loved ballets of all time. It has the winning blend of Tchaikovsky's ravishing music, a gripping fable of tragic romance, and a marvellous opportunity for dazzling choreography.
This performance, featuring the combined stars of the Bolshoi and Kirov Ballet is a classic. The perfect treat in the run-up to Christmas! Or indeed at any time of the year.
Open to all. No entry charge. Please refer to the poster for more details.
More (Henna) cake: The Butterend Cakery
Since you all loved the post on the henna-inspired cake design so much, here’s another treat for you. I wrote about this amazing cake for Marie Clarie. It was made by Kimberly of the Butterend Cakery for Shalini and Tony Potts’ wedding

Here’s another henna-inspired wedding cake from Kimberly. I love the really unusual colours. Wish I had these are inspiration for my own wedding – none of that blah-white boring cake!
Today is National Cover Anything in Chocolate Day
In honour of my birthday, the US celebrates ‘National Cover Anything in Chocolate Day’. Yes, really.
Chocolate-covered strawberries are a perennial favourite
Pretzels soaked in chocolate sound like fun, too
as do these bananas!
ever try Squids in chocolate?
Or a even a chocolate-covered car (such a waste of good chocolate)
There’s even chocolate covered grasshoppers and scorpions available, but I don’t want to have them on my blog!
With my advancing age, I’d rather stick to the tried and tested
Oops.
I meant
a slice of chocolate cheesecake, if I can find one.
That is, if you-know-who hasn’t got his tiny hands on it yet.
Still, chocolate-covered kisses from my baby might be the best present I get. And calorie-free,too (almost)!
What will you cover in chocolate today? :)

Stamped Book Bindings
I usually hate mutilating books with any additional ‘artwork’ but I absolutely love this idea. Aren’t these stamped words and patterns lovely and unobtrusive? They’d come as such a surprise if you didn’t know they were already there!

A Sunny Kitchen
Isn’t this a beautiful kitchen? I love the stack of bowls. The yellow blinds are in the same line as the second row of bowls in the same colour which is what probably makes the space look thought-out. The yellow stool and the red rug in the same shades are a nice touch too.
See more of this home (of Martha Stewart Living's design director James Dunlinson and his partner, Alistair Turnball) here.
Compai Giveaway
Aren’t these upcycled sugar molds simply gorgeous? I would love one of these and I’m sharing this here simply because I want another chance of winning the first one in this lovely giveaway at the Compai blog.If left to myself, I’d keep this giveaway a secret :)
Oh, go on, you can join in too :)
The giveaway closes Dec 16, so hurry.

Awesome Party Hats
Your money may have more value with these little origami hats than by itself, as currency :)
Brown paper parcels
